Four more sleeps to go people! That’s right. Christmas is drawing in at an alarming rate and it’s time to get your look for the big day planned. Presuming you have your outfit down, it’s time to consider whether you will be sporting facial hair. If the answer to that is no, then I have something for you!
The wonderful team over at Cornerstone have your shaving needs for the festive season covered! Well… All year round to be honest. Founded by Oliver Bridge, Cornerstone is a subscription service that supplies the modern man with all the tools needed for that perfect, clean shave.
When signing up on the Cornerstone website, you are asked to specify your preferences in regards to products so that your subscription and relationship with the brand feels like a personalised one. When you receive the kit, you are met with slick design and quality in everything from the packaging to the products. You’re initially met with booklets recommending different lifestyle topics, the proper way to shave, how each product in the box works and even a voucher for your next box/es.
Getting to the nitty gritty – the products themselves. After opening your pores with a warm/hot shower, you start with the ‘Pre Shave Face Scrub’*. I’m a big fan of scrubs as nothing feels better than removing dirt and dead skin to help give a refreshed glow, so I instantly had a feeling I would approve of the product. There was no redness or irritation to the product, it applies easily and does as it says on the
can tube! This was the right sort of start I’d expected, having heard such rave reviews about Cornerstone.
The shave itself is aided by the ‘Sensitive Shave Gel’*. Sidenote: There is also the option of cream for those who prefer shaving cream to shaving gel. I’m very picky when it comes to shaving creams/gel. I like something that lathers/has great coverage and doesn’t leave a weird feel to my skin once rinsed. As luck would have it, Cornerstone’s shaving gel ticks every one of the boxes of requirements from a shaving cream/gel. The application is easy, the scent is fresh, there is no reaction with the skin and it helps the razor glide on the skin.
Speaking of the razor, this brings me onto one of my favourite aspects of Cornerstone. Upon your registration, you are given a personalised, aluminium razor*. Personalised being that your initials are engrave into the handle. The whole look, feel and performance of the razor supports the point being that Cornerstone is a premium brand both in their service and quality of products. The blades/razor heads* are easy to change, look slick, work like a dream and have movability to them which so many razors fail to offer.
Now that you’re rocking a bare faced look, it’s time to soothe the skin. Cornerstone’s ‘Cooling Sensitive Post-Shave Balm’* is a smooth, light and wonderfully scented product that moisturises and cools the newly shaven skin. Infused with Aloe Vera, the balm feels so good on the skin and doesn’t leave a sticky residue on the face which, if you’ve read previous posts on Oh So Jack, you’ll know I cannot stand.
The kit I received would cost £30 but you can pick up a Cornerstone box for as little as £5 should you want a specific product. In my personal opinion, each of the products mentioned above along with the slick, minimal design of the packaging have me hooked and I will most certainly be shaving with Cornerstone!
I would like to thank Cornerstone for the kit, I thoroughly enjoyed using the products and I can feel certain that my next shave will have me looking my best this Christmas! If you would like to check out their site, please click here or if you’re already wanting in, begin your subscription here!
I wish you all a very Merry Christmas, and I will catch you all next week! 🎄
