Anxiety. A feeling of worry, nervousness or unease at something. Is this something you have ever encountered? I know I have and according to a report recently conducted by menswear brand and retailer, Jacamo, thousands of men do too. People Magazine’s ‘Sexiest Man of The Year’, David Beckham is included in this number of men too, having voiced that he “doesn’t feel an attractive, sexy person”. Now this isn’t to say there aren’t women who do or have suffered with anxiety before, I’m just addressing manxiety (man anxiety) today as Jacamo have recently launched a campaign to tackle and I have teamed up with them to spread the awareness. Their report also concluded that 40% of the men struggling with anxiety are doing so because of being teased by their friends.

Assisting in the cause are former cricketer, Freddie Flintoff, and comedian, Jack Whitehall. They went for a dinner and discussed the issue resulting in the two feeling more positive. Check it out below.

Right, now moving to overcoming appearance related anxiety, many people underestimate the power clothing can have on a person’s confidence. It can be something like a change in posture, a change in mood/attitude or even putting a skip in someone’s step.

I often find that wearing a suit can make a man feel confident, suave and slick. This is of course, if you’re wearing the perfect suit for your body.

I personally recommend that there is a slight tailored look to your suit in order to fit the contours of your body better. I understand that not everybody can afford a bespoke suit, I’m just suggesting that making sure it is fitted and flatters the body.

Go forth and take the world by storm guys! Focussing on anxiety and insecurities can really hold you back from living in the moment and enjoying life, trust me!
